A Garden and Flower Co-op? YES! Co-ops are NOT just for groceries - co-ops in Minnesota made over $18 Billion dollars in 2006. A group of folks in CARAG, ECCO, EHFNA, Kingfield and Lyndale banded together in 2006 to start this member owned co-op. Interested in becoming a member of Urban Earth Cooperative? "A community is like a ship; everyone ought to be prepared to take the helm." ~ Henrik Ibsen
We opened for business on October 1st, 2006.
We welcome Members to join our cooperative at our regular Membership of $95.
As a co-op, we have volunteers supporting the co-op through committee work, donations and general volunteering at the co-op. Established committees include the Executive, Finance, Human Resources, Sales and Marketing, Membership, Volunteer, Facility, Purchasing, Plant Care and Events Committees. We are a Board driven co-op in our first year of operation. There are many areas of the business we are learning about and documenting so this will be much easier in the years to come. Our priority is meeting the needs of our members, we are striving to be their main gardening resource store.
The Board of Directors meets the 2nd Monday of each month. Individual Committees meet as needed on their own schedule.
